OCTOBERFEST – SATURDAY, OCT 3RD AT HEIGHTS PARK
Don’t forget Octoberfest taking place Saturday, October 3rd. Event starts at 11:00 a.m. at the north end of Heights Park (near the pavilion), but at 10:30 we’re having a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Floyd/Arapaho entry sign with some City Council and City Staff officials. If you can come at 10:30, please join us!
It’s always a fun event – free food, drinks, lots of games – bounce house, face painter, balloon artist, cake walk, plus a short parade in the park so the kids can show off their artistic skills in bike/wagon/pet decorating.
PLEASE COME AND BRING YOUR NEIGHBORS!
We would, however, like to ask your assistance in donating some baked goods – something easy to eat – cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc. If you’d like to bring something, please let me know ASAP. We’ll also be selling our Heights Park N.A. t-shirts so bring a check or cash so you can purchase some (adults and kids sizes). If you already own an HPNA shirt, be sure to wear it to Octoberfest!

JOINT NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION MEETING – THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22ND; 7:00 P.M.
(RICHARDSON HIGH SCHOOL)
At the last General Meeting, I mentioned an initiative that Heights Park, Richardson Heights and Cottonwood Heights is involved with to assist City Hall with the responsible redevelopment of our Heights area. These three neighborhood groups are working on a revitalization and redevelopment plan to present to the City Council on what we’d like for our area to be going into the future. We want to work on cleaning up the blight that surrounds our neighborhood – the run down commercial buildings, trashy apartment
buildings, lack of cohesive development, empty retail spaces, etc. Please help us by coming to a joint neighborhood meeting on October 22nd at Richardson High School (in Eagles Nest) – starting at 7:00 p.m. To be effective, we need to have a solid showing of support. Please come hear what it’s all about and help us keep our neighborhoods vital! This is probably one of the most important things you can do to keep your property values going in the right direction!
