October 2020 Yard of the Month

Congratulations to the owners at 100 North Weatherred Drive! Please read what they had to say about their yard

Over 5 years when we moved to Heights Park we inherited quit a project, THE YARD.  For the next four years we painstakingly completed project after project.  Adding a new sprinkler system, gutters all around the house, all new windows, painted the exterior and the final project changing and adding a new porch to the front.

With all these projects completed I could then plan and execute the yard project.  As you all know it has taken 2 seasons to reach the place we are today.  With the COVID19 stay at home order in late March and April I was able to completely replace a large portion of the grass and continue to add improving the landscape.  Every day during this time it seemed I was raking, bagging trash, laid new grass and going to bed exhausted.  At this point I would like to thank the many neighborhoods that offered their encouraging words “Looking Good” or “I like what you are doing”.  It was this added support that helped me to continue to reach the point that I can be proud of Our Yard.

Do not get me wrong I still have plenty of work ahead, not to mention the constant maintenance that goes with having 7 mature Oaks in your yard.  I am just much closer to my goal than I was a year ago.

I want to give Thanks to my special husband, Jim, who has never complained I was outside all day and getting nothing done inside.  He has always supported my crazy ideas.  I also want to thank this wonderful neighborhood of ours, I have had so many encouraging comments “Looking Goods” “Good Job” etc. that it has really made this journey a little easier when at times it seemed very difficult.

It is with great honor we display “Yard of the Month” sign in our yard.  Thank you so much for recognizing what hard work looks like.
