Congratulations to the owners at 604 Lockwood Drive! Please read what they had to say about their decorated yard
Thank you so very much for choosing our home as Decorated Yard of the Month. We are delighted!
Our Christmas display started out with just a single string of lights around our porch eves, and our old school wood-panel Texas-theme’d Santa, that we picked up at a JJ Pierce HS Christmas Bazaar years ago. Moving to Texas from Canada, a cowboy-hat wearing Santa welcoming in the season with “Merry Christmas Y’all” in our front yard just seemed an appropriate first decoration.
We like the white lights on the house eves, and the yard with the signature Heights Park spiral trees (among other decorations). When we painted the house, put up shutters and railings around the porch, it cried out for greenery, so we added the a couple of wreaths, which grew into a lot of wreaths and garland with lights.
Each year we added a piece or two, from diverse places as Hobby Lobby and Ikea, to surprise our granddaughters with, who just love to drive around Heights Park with us looking at all the decorated and lighted houses.
We love our ‘50s house, wonderful neighborhood, and great neighbors. Thank you for recognizing us. We hope our yard makes you smile a little in this trying year. Happy Holidays!
